About Us

About Ryton Cricket Club.

Ryton Cricket Club is a welcoming and inclusive club for players, parents, members, and spectators. Established in 1894,The club played its first game in 1895, known then as Ryton Congregational Church Cricket Club. It moved to the current ground from Ryton Willows in 1900 and became plain Ryton Cricket Club the following year. The club boasts the longest-serving membership of the Tyneside Cricket League in the region and remains a valued part of the local community. Indeed, the club hosts several community groups, and details of these connections can be found at the bottom of our ‘home’ page.
We work closely with local schools to introduce children to cricket from an early age and support a range of community initiatives, underpinned by a strong family ethos.
We have teams competing at U9, U11, U13, U15, U17, U19, three senior teams, and from 2025, our newly formed Ryton Ravens Ladies team.
We are very lucky to have some of the best facilities of any local cricket club, with two all-weather nets, modern, expansive changing rooms with showers, a large hospitality area, top-of-the-range ground maintenance equipment, and an incredible team to underpin the social side of our club.
